Developed for the New Zealand Council of Education Research (NZCER), the Spell-Right! Endings CD-ROM brings to life NZCER's proven step-by-step methodology (Study, Practise, Learn and Test) that teaches and improves 8+ year old students’ spelling ability. Students work with the ‘Spelling Patrol Detective’ to identify the correct endings for essential spelling words within an exciting investigation environment.

The Detective leads the students through the step-by-step process and while the student is practising applying ending rules - including being able to change the size, colour, typeface etc - they are actually learning to spell the new word. Additional features such as a drag and drop activity and being able to make the word jump, or explode the word, help the student to remember the word. This resource continues to reflect the principle that spelling is primarily a skill of writing which is best mastered by students within the context of learning to write.
