Time-Based Art is a hybrid CD/DVD-ROM resource developed for the Ministry of Education.
The resource aims to provide teachers with the opportunity to explore a stimulating and enriching field of art. Designed for teachers of students in years 7–13, it aims to inspire and introduce time-based art into their programmes.
The hybrid CD/DVD-ROM combines a website ROM component that features plans for six units of work (including curriculum levels 3-8, and NZCEA links), with DVD video for presentation to larger groups. Video material on both the ROM and DVD includes an overview of Time-Based Art, examples from relevant New Zealand and international artists, and teacher and student interviews.
The Time-Based Art resource presents many thought-provoking concepts and new and different perspectives. It has been described as a great tool for those wanting to critically examine television, cinema, and the Internet. |
